    Dr. Kennedy is Board Certified in cosmetic and plastic surgery, as well as hand surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the California Plastic Surgery Society and former president of the San Diego International Plastic Surgery Society. 

    Dr. Kennedy received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California at Riverside. While there as a Regents scholar he attended the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. After obtaining his M.D. degree from St. Louis University, Dr. Kennedy spent his general surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco.

    He then completed his plastic surgery training at Penn State University, Hershey, where he was a Fellow of the American Cancer Society and instructor in the Department of Surgery. While teaching at Penn State Dr. Kennedy received a national award for basic research in plastic surgery.

    He followed his research with two years at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C. where he became chairman of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. While there he was an assistant professor at the Armed Forces Medical School and was also affiliated with both the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Health.

    In 1980 Dr. Kennedy established his private practice in San Diego with an emphasis in cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction, skin cancer and hand surgery. He was an assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.

    In 2001, Dr. Kennedy relocated his practice to service the Clarksburg and Morgantown West Virginia areas. He is a member of both United Hospital Center and Monongalia General Hospital Medical Staff.
